Nina Simone - I've got life - Gaby's favorite song

I came across the lyrics she printed out from one of her all time favorite songs.

You can hear Nina siging the song here

Ain't got no home, ain't got no shoes
Ain't got no money, ain't got no class
Ain't got no skirts, ain't got no sweater
Ain't got no perfume, ain't got no beer
Ain't got no man

Ain't got no mother, ain't got no culture
Ain't got no friends, ain't got no schooling
Ain't got no love, ain't got no name
Ain't got no ticket, ain't got no token
Ain't got no God

What about God?
Why am I alive anyway?
Yeah, what about God?
Nobody can take away

I got my hair, I got my head
I got my brains, I got my ears
I got my eyes, I got my nose
I got my mouth, I got my smile
I got my tongue, I got my chin
I got my neck, I got my boobs

I got my heart, I got my soul
I got my back, I got my sex
I got my arms, I got my hands
I got my fingers, Got my legs
I got my feet, I got my toes
I got my liver, Got my blood

I've got life , I've got my freedom
I've got the life

And I'm gonna keep it
I've got the life
And nobody's gonna take it away
I've got the life

Gaby with Nelly and Jens

These pictures were taken in August 2007 when her nephew Jens and wife Nelly came to visit.

Keeping to your direction

Gaby kept this in her diary, useful for us all!

1. You were born with a purpose - it's part of you
2. Anything is possible
3. Look for the meaning or purpose of what you are doing
4. Participate more and plan less
5. Start anywhere; purpose is not linear - it's surprising
6. Focus on what you want - not what you don't want
7. Love what you do. Do what you love.
8. Listen carefully to your intuition.
9. Take action on intution.
10. You don't fave to become a different person
11. Stay in acceptance and postive energy
12. By your example you are responsible for inspiring others
13. When you are alighned, you easily draw on the cooperation of all
14. It's a game; enjoy, be light
God is helping you.

The Red Baron

Her red bicycle was fondly refered to as the 'Red Baron' and she was to be seen practically everywhere on it!

Here she is together with Robbie and said Red Baron filmed on August 6th 2007

You can see the clip here

The funeral

Gabriele's funeral was held at 3.30pm on Tuesday 30th October at the Mortlake cemetary just on the outskirts of Richmond.

The sun shone for our spring child, and there was hardly a seat left in the house, testimony as to how many souls she touched with her outgoing nature.

I think she would have been suitably pleased, speaches by myself, best friend Heidu, and soulmate Robbie who made an excellent speech with the laughs thrown in - she would'nt have wanted it any other way :-)

Her swansong was Queen's 'It's a beautiful Day' which can be heard here

Whilst the event was not recorded on film, like her, it will live on in our hearts forever.

A very special day for a very special person :-)
